James Hooke

About James Hooke

James Hooke is Co-Founder and Chairman of LongView, bringing more than 30 years of leadership experience across investment management, infrastructure, private equity and financial services. He previously served as CEO of ASX-listed Atlas Arteria and NYSE-listed Macquarie Infrastructure Corporation, where he oversaw the development and management of major infrastructure assets across the United States and Europe. During his tenure at Macquarie Infrastructure Corporation, the company's market capitalisation grew from under A$100 million to more than A$7 billion.

Prior to these roles, James was a Senior Managing Director at Macquarie Group, overseeing private equity and impact investments across Australia and internationally. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions with Fairfax Media, Bain & Company and Phillips Fox Solicitors.

In addition to his executive career, James is an active company director and contributor to the not-for-profit sector. He serves on the University of New South Wales Council and is a Director of Enliven Housing, Silicon Quantum Computing, Dusseldorp Forum and Kilfinan Australia. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of New South Wales and is the co-author of three books.
