What is the strangest thing you have had to deal with, in your career in real estate?
The strangest thing that I had to deal with in Owners Corporation Managing over the last 6.5 years is what you find in blocked pipes when you send out a plumber due to a blockage in a building. Some of the pictures they send of items they find clearly shouldn’t be flushed down a toilet.
What is the most interesting non-Real Estate job you have ever had, and what about that job has helped you most in your current real estate role?
The most interesting non- Real Estate job I have had before becoming an Owners Corporation Manager was working in the insurance department at ANZ. This has helped me in my current role lodging insurance claims and getting a positive outcome for the Owners.
What is the one piece of advice you would give a new landlord/vendor/client?
One piece of advice I will provide to a landlord/vendor/client is to carry out a building defects report on the building before purchasing a property whether it is Strata titled or not. A few hundred dollars spent on a Defects Report could save you thousands later rectifying the defects.
