How long have you been in Real Estate?

Eight years in property related industries.

What aspect of Real Estate are you an expert in, or what aspect are you most proud of that you do?

Although I am not a qualified Real Estate professional, I have been a home owner myself, a Landlord/Investor and also a Tenant! Giving me the ability to see things from all perspectives and share my views with our team.

 What is the strangest/nicest/most interesting thing you have had to deal with, in your Real Estate career?

I have heard of strange situations encountered by our Property Managers.  I give them credit for their abilities to deal with difficult situations in a positive way that resolves issues amicably for all parties involved.

What is the most interesting non-Real Estate job you have ever had, and what about that job has helped you most in your current Real Estate role?

From family law, wills & estates, property law, conveyancing, private equity & facilities management – a variety bag for sure!  Every role I have worked in has given me the ability to have a greater understanding to relate to and deal with, both minor issues through to the more complex circumstances, relating to people’s investments and importantly their personal lives.

 What is the one piece of advice you would give a new Landlord/Vendor/Tenant/Client?

As a previous Landlord, having confidence in a Property Manager to ensure lease renewals are signed. Then you are not left in financial difficulty when you have a tenant ‘up and leave’ without sufficient notice.  If only Rental Guarantee to cover vacancy was an option for me at that time!
