We are living in unprecedented times, and you are no doubt being barraged with information, and have many things to worry about, so we will be very brief.
Rest assured that LongView is doing everything we can to ensure business continuity and that your tenancy is managed in the professional manner you expect. We have invested significantly in systems, processes and training and are confident we will be able to continue most of our operations remotely should that be required.
We are thinking through many potential issues and will communicate with you as and when necessary. Please contact us now if you have any specific concerns.
A few things we need you to focus on now, are to:
LET US KNOW IF YOU CAN’T PAY YOUR RENT
If you are suffering a loss of income as a consequence of corona virus impacting on your employment and are likely to be unable to pay your rent in full please get in contact with your property manager to discuss the circumstances. As much as possible we want to work with our Tenants and Landlords to get through this crisis; but can’t do anything to help with a problem if we don’t know about it.
ALERT US IF YOU ARE REQUIRED TO SELF-ISOLATE
To enable us to manage the tenancy effectively and minimise the risks to you, our staff, contractors and others it is imperative that you advise us if you are required to self-isolate or if you have tested positive for corona virus.
DO YOU WANT TO LOCK IN A LONGER LEASE?
If your lease is on a periodic tenancy your Landlord is entitled to give you 60 days’ notice to vacate in many cases. If you would like to consider ensuring you have greater security of tenure in the property please let your property manager know and we will discuss with the owner of the property offering you a fixed term tenancy.
If your tenancy is a fixed term tenancy but you would like to have enhanced security of tenure beyond the current lease term expiry please let your property manager know and we will discuss with the owner of the property extending the term of your current fixed term tenancy.
We will get through this crisis together and LongView will continue to take all steps possible protect the health and welfare of you, us and our communities to the maximum extent possible while also ensuring business continuity to the maximum extent possible.
Please contact us should you have any specific questions.
We wish you, your family and friends all the best as we work through the challenges the corona virus pandemic causes and that you stay safe and healthy.
